About the Gyroplane

What Makes a Gyroplane so Unique?

A gyroplane blends the best of helicopters and airplanes — but it’s truly in a class of its own. It uses an unpowered, free-spinning rotor for lift and a rear-mounted propeller for thrust. This design makes it incredibly stable, safe, and fun to fly, even at low speeds.

Our aircraft are built by AutoGyro GmbH, the global leader in gyroplane design, with thousands flying worldwide. Whether you’re here for a one-time flight or working toward a rating, you’ll quickly see why pilots and passengers alike fall in love with these machines.

How Does It Work

Simple by design. Safe by nature.

Unlike a helicopter, a gyroplane’s rotor isn’t powered by the engine. Instead, it spins on its own as air moves upward through the blades — a process called autorotation.

A rear-mounted propeller provides forward thrust, while air flows through the rotor disc to generate lift — a simple, ingenious design that’s been in use for over 100 years.

This unique setup makes gyroplanes stall-proof and remarkably stable, even in strong winds and turbulence. It’s one of the main reasons they’re considered among the safest aircraft in the sky.

Why People Love Flying Gyroplanes

Gyroplanes combine the agility of a helicopter with the simplicity of an airplane — creating a safe, stable, and unforgettable flying experience.

Super Safe

Gyroplanes can’t stall or spin. If the engine stops, the aircraft gently glides down using its free-spinning rotor — keeping you in control all the way to landing.

Stability

Gyroplanes are naturally stable. They handle turbulence and strong winds with ease. That makes for smoother flights, even on gusty days in Hawaii.

Amazing Views

The open-cockpit design gives you an unmatched view of the island. It's like riding a motorcycle through the sky — but safer, smoother, and way cooler.

Did You Know?

Gyroplanes were invented before helicopters — first flown in 1923!
For over 100 years, pilots have trusted them for their simplicity, safety, and pure flying fun.

Whether you’re a curious first-timer or just learning what a gyroplane even is, you’re about to experience one of the most unique flying machines in the sky.
